911 Call Leads To Rifle Recovery, Disorderly Conduct Charge
The Buffalo Grove Police Department dispels social media rumors about early Tuesday morning incident.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The Buffalo Grove Police Department is lauding a citizen for calling 911 early Tuesday morning following reports of two men wearing masks and armed with a rifle in the 1100 block of Miller Lane. The department wanted to dispel several posts on social media about a large police presence that included misinformation.
According to an official police statement on the incident, officers responded to the call at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and located the men, one carrying a "long dark object." When police asked them to stop, they ran and dropped the object. Officers caught up with them, and they stopped and cooperated with police commands. Officers then located the object that was dropped which was later determined to be a metal air soft rifle.
The men were questioned, and ultimately, one was charged with disorderly conduct, according to police.
