Police Monitoring Looting Reports In Suburbs
The Buffalo Grove Police Department announced Sunday night it is monitoring reports of looting in suburban Chicagoland.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Amid reports of increased crime and unrest spreading into the suburbs following the death of George Floyd in Minnesota, the Village of Buffalo Grove announced Sunday night it is monitoring reports of looting in suburban Chicagoland in partnership with regional police departments. Additional police officers have been deployed for the safety of the community, according to the Village of Buffalo Grove.
"Reports of looting have not all been true; some local businesses are closing early today to avoid any issues with potential looters," the Village of Buffalo Grove announced. "The Village encourages everyone to do their part and take reasonable precautions, such as avoiding crowds and staying at home if possible. If you feel you are in danger, or if you witness a crime taking place, please call 911."
