BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and arrests made by officers. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and may be dropped or reduced. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
Haig M. Klujian, 49, of Chicago, was arrested Aug. 2 in the 1500 block of East Lake Cook Road and charged with driving under the influence, carrying a concealed firearm while under the influence and speeding.
Klujian was assigned a Sept. 9 court date in Waukegan.
Five vehicles were broken into overnight July 26 in the 100 block of Steeple Drive. Police said bags had been left inside the vehicles in plain view. The investigation remained ongoing at the time of the report.
A vehicle in the 400 block of Towne Place was driven out of its owner's driveway and left farther down the street July 27. A credit card and debit card were reported stolen from the vehicle.
A bag containing a wallet and two watches, each valued at $1,000, was stolen from a vehicle July 27 in the 600 block of East Deerfield Parkway.
Alberto Ponce Rojas, of Round Lake, was arrested July 27 in the 0-100 block of East Dundee Road and charged with driving under the influence.
He was assigned a Sept. 1 court date in Rolling Meadows.
Jesus A. Ruiz, 30, of Waukegan, was arrested July 23 near Columbus Parkway and Milwaukee Avenue.
Ruiz was charged with driving with a revoked license, operating a vehicle with suspended registration and obstructing identification. He was assigned an Aug. 6 court date in Mundelein.
Giovani Noberto Osuna Villa, 37, of Wheeling, was arrested July 25 in the 0-100 block of Buffalo Grove Road.
Osuna Villa was charged with driving without ever having been issued a license, operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding. He was assigned an Aug. 21 court date in Mundelein.
Jonathan V. Avelar, 34, of Wheeling, was listed in the July 29 blotter on charges of aggravated domestic battery and two counts of domestic battery stemming from a June 14 arrest.
The report listed a July 29 court date in Waukegan. No additional details about the allegations were provided.
A bicycle was reported stolen July 29 from a building's bicycle room in the 0-100 block of Villa Verde Drive.
Police received two reports July 31 involving trash placed in private dumpsters without permission.
One occurred in the 1100 block of North Arlington Heights Road, while the other was reported in the 1100 block of McHenry Road.
