One occupant was treated and released at the scene for minor injuries.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A residential fire left one apartment uninhabitable last week as an investigation continues into the cause. Buffalo Grove firefighters were dispatched to the fire at around 5:50 p.m. July 2, after receiving multiple calls describing flames coming from the roof of the affected building, according to the Village of Buffalo Grove.
Upon arrival, initial fire crews found a fire on the outside roof area of the neighboring building located in the 10 block of Oak Creek Drive, near a third floor apartment balcony. An aggressive fire attack was initiated, extinguishing the fire while simultaneously searching for occupants of the affected third floor apartment. Additional crews searched the building and checked for hazards while addressing numerous calls for assistance.
Officials said the fire was extinguished within 10 minutes, and one occupant was treated and released at the scene for minor injuries. Fire crews remained on the scene for approximately another hour checking on building occupants, making sure there was no hidden fire and conducting a fire investigation. The fire resulted in one unit of the 18-unit building being uninhabitable.
