BMX Rider Entertains, Motivates

Champion BMX bike rider Matt Wilhelm visited Cooper Middle School today, where he performed bike tricks and delivered motivational messages to students.

"We had surveyed the kids and asked what they'd like," said Dawn Richards, PTO president. "Matt Wilhelm's name came up."

Wilhelm spent the entire morning at Cooper, where he gave separate programs for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders. He spoke about topics including bullying, perseverance and going to college.

"Finding something for middle-schoolers is tough," Richards said. "He's got a great, positive message."
