Buffalo Grove Home Vacant Since 2022 Blaze Catches Fire Again: Village
The cause of Wednesday's fire remains under investigation, according to the Village of Buffalo Grove.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — For area firefighters, the site of a late Wednesday night fire may have looked familiar. A home in the 2100 block of Brandywyn Lane, vacated since an August 2022 fire left it uninhabitable, caught fire again.
The latest fire at the home was battled by Buffalo Grove and neighboring fire departments, who were able to extinguish it in 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.
According to the Village of Buffalo Grove, firefighters were originally dispatched to the area of Silver Linden Lane at 10:30 p.m., but were redirected to the correct location while en route. Flames were visible from a distance.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the entire second floor of the two-story vacant house fully engulfed with fire, with heat impacting the neighboring houses on both sides. Officials said crews began simultaneously extinguishing the fire while also protecting the neighboring homes from the fire as it rapidly spread.
The house where the fire originated had a partial collapse of the second floor, and the neighboring homes both sustained damage in the form of melted vinyl siding, according to the Village.
