Car Broken Into While Parked At Metra: Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED/SUSPENDED

- Maritza Cacho, 49, is accused of driving on a suspended license, speeding (70 mph in a 40 mph zone), and was arrested at 9:30 a.m. April 7, at Milwaukee Avenue and Riverwalk Drive. They were released after posting bond and assigned a court date of May 13.
- Ashley Simone Holliday, 28, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 8:45 a.m. April 8, in the 1500 block of E. Lake Cook Road. They were released after posting bond.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Jonathan D. Townsend, 23, homeless, is accused of criminal damage to property, and was arrested at 7:10 p.m. April 12, in the 1000 block of Miller Lane. Police responded to the area following a report Townsend was seen damaging a vehicle in the parking lot. He left the area after damaging the car, according to police. They were able to identify and track him down.

- Between April 3 and April 4, several burglaries to vehicles in the 100 block of Lake Boulevard were reported. Three victims had their cars broken into while parked in the parking lot. Several personal items were stolen from the vehicles.
- A person reported on April 12 their vehicle was broken into while parked in a Buffalo Grove Metra parking spot during the daytime hours in the 800 block of Commerce Court. Several personal items were stolen from the vehicle.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
An Arbor Gate Lane resident reported someone slashed the front driver's side of their vehicle during the overnight hours of April 7. The resident told police they had no idea who would have done it.
RETAIL THEFT
Loss prevention at Woodman's Grocery, 1500 block of E. Deerfield Parkway, reported at 3:01 p.m. April 8, a person left the store with items placed in a shopping bag and walked past the last point of purchase without paying for them. They were stopped by loss prevention and met with police upon arrival. They were issued an adjudication ticket and given a trespass warning.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
An Old Oak Drive resident called police at 1:23 p.m. April 10, to report their catalytic converter had been stolen. Officers also discovered two other catalytic converter thefts in the same area during the same time frame.
