Cheese Sculptor To Kick Off Grocery Store Grand Opening
Sarah Kaufmann, known as "The Cheese Lady," will demonstrate her skills during the grand opening of Mariano's Fresh Market in Vernon Hills.
Shoppers at Mariano's Fresh Market will have the chance to watch 40-pound cheese wheels sculpted into symbols of Chicago sports teams at this weekend's grand opening celebration.
Sarah Kaufmann, a nationally recognized cheese sculptor, will convert blocks of Wisconsin cheese into tributes to baseball and football teams from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the new store, 1720 North Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills. Cheese samples will also be offered.
The new store, which opened in June, is the second Mariano's in northern Illinois.
