UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN
Joshua Jacob Martin, of Buffalo Grove, was among 723 graduates who received degrees during a virtual graduation celebration Aug. 15. Martin earned a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from the College of Engineering. The August graduates are from 44 countries, 37 states and 75 Nebraska communities.

Kaitlyn Lorant, of Buffalo Grove, graduated from The College of St. Scholastica with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

ILLINOIS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY
Illinois Wesleyan University honored 388 candidates for graduation on Aug. 2, 2020 during the University's first-ever virtual Commencement ceremony, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. President S. Georgia Nugent delivered the Commencement address. The candidates include:
- Kaitlin Feely, of Buffalo Grove, Summa Cum Laude majored in Music Theatre.

PURDUE UNIVERSITY
Samantha Hartman-Stackhouse, of Buffalo Grove, has achieved the Dean's List with Honors for the Spring Semester at Purdue University West Lafayette. She is an Animal Science Major. Hartman-Stackhouse has made the Dean's list with Honors every semester she has attended Purdue and is a senior for the 2020-2021 school year. She graduated from Stevenson High School in 2018.

COLORADO COLLEGE
Johnna Geick, of Buffalo Grove, has been named to Colorado College's 2019-20 Dean's List. Geick was a Sophomore at Colorado College during the 2019-20 academic year. Students who achieve a grade point average of 3.75 or higher are named to the Dean's List, which is released once a year. To qualify, a student must complete seven units in the academic year and those courses must be taken for a letter grade. Colorado College, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, operates on the Block Plan, in which students take one course at a time in three-and-a-half week segments.

LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY
Ian Findling, of Buffalo Grove, has earned 2020 Dean's List honors at Lawrence University. Findling is a member of the Class of 2021. The Dean's List is an annual honor roll of students demonstrating exemplary academic performance. The Dean's List is compiled at the end of the academic year once all grades have been recorded. To make the Dean's List, a student must have earned at least 36 units in Lawrence courses during the academic year and have earned a GPA of at least 3.5.

OHIO WESLYEAN
Ohio Wesleyan University presented its Golden Bishop Awards during a virtual ceremony April 22 to recognize students for outstanding achievements in leadership and community service during the 2019-2020 academic year. At the event, Carissa Silet, of Buffalo Grove, was honored with the Outstanding First-Year Student for her work as a co-creator of the new Service, Engagement and Leadership House, one of Ohio Wesleyan's small living units. Silet and all of the 2019-2020 Golden Bishops represent the best of the best on campus.

The University of Tampa virtually hosted its 150th commencement on May 9 to honor 1,752 degree-seeking candidates. Taylor Frishman, of Buffalo Grove, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Media Arts.

Ryan Matthew Rosenbaum, of Buffalo Grove, is among the more than 5,400 candidates for graduation who will be celebrated during a live, virtual celebratory event on May 9.
Rosenbaum, who is a Taxation and Data Analytics major, is a candidate for a Master of Taxation and Data Analytics degree in the Graduate School.

Ellie Deridder, of Buffalo Grove, was named to the dean's list at Olivet Nazarene University during the recently completed spring 2020 semester. To qualify for inclusion on the dean's list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.

IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY
Isabelle Fox, of Buffalo Grove, volunteered as a member of the Sustainapalooza Planning Committee, a group responsible for the planning and implementation of a variety of tasks required for the Sustainapalooza event including catering, publicity and logistics.
Isabelle's participation contributed to a successful Sustainapalooza, which encouraged students and community members to "Picture Themselves in a Sustainable World," the theme of the event. Event attendees engaged in Green-It-Yourself activities, compiled a life-sized collage wall, donated to the Clothing Swap and learned about University and community organizations committed to sustainability in the tabling session.

GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
The Georgia Institute of Technology awarded degrees to approximately 4,050 undergraduate and graduate students at the conclusion of spring semester. Students were celebrated during a virtual celebration held on May 1. They will also be honored during in-person commencement ceremonies to be held on campus later this year.
