LINCOLNSHIRE, IL -- Construction of the east building addition at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire is on schedule and is expected to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2019-20 school year in August, school officials said earlier this month. The new addition will contain science and world language classrooms, breakout spaces for small group learning, and an area for physics classes to conduct drop experiments. A rooftop garden and greenhouse will be used by science, special ed, and fine arts instruction.
The photo above shows the current view of a courtyard area being constructed which will be used by Little Patriots, fine arts and special education classes as well as students who want to visit a relaxing outdoor space during the day, according to a post on the Stevenson High Facebook page.
The building will be powered by solar panels, which have already been installed on the roof.
