Driver Hits Car, Nearly Strikes Officer: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter
Police said the person wasn't wearing a seatbelt, which led to them getting pulled over, prior to the incidents.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS
DRIVING ON SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

- Alshontas A. Bradley, 41, of the 9100 block of S. Union Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving on a revoked license, and was arrested at 1:49 p.m. May 18, in the 1000 block of W. Dundee Road. He was also issued a traffic citation for illegally tinted windows. Bradley was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of July 15.
- Gerry C. Burdine, 26, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is accused of driving on a revoked license, not having a valid vehicle registration, no restraint for a child under the age of 8, and was arrested at 2:59 p.m. May 20, at W. Lake Cook and Weidner roads. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of July 15.
- Gerardo Ramirez, 42, of the 600 block of MacArthur Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 3:22 p.m. May 21, following a three-vehicle crash at Dundee Road and Golfview Terrace. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of July 15.
- Antonio M. Dandridge, 49, of Millersville, Pennsylvania, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 9:02 a.m. May 22, in the 700 block of W. Dundee Road. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of July 15.
- Janethe Soto, 40, of the 500 block of Lakeview Drive, Lakemoor, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 9:16 a.m. May 24, in the 600 block of W. Deerfield Parkway. They were released after posting bond and were assigned a court date of July 15.
- Francisco A. Tejada Apolinar, 23, of the 10 block of N. Pioneer Road, Waukegan, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 8:30 p.m. May 24, at W. Lake Cook and N. Arlington Heights roads. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of June 10.

Jovanny Diaz-Gantes, 37, of the 600 block of Homewood Avenue, Highland Park, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood concentration level of .08 or more, speeding (35+ mph over the speed limit), and was arrested at 3:05 a.m. May 22, at Lake Cook Road and Northgate. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of June 6.
POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Joseph Anthony Baruffi, 35, of the 700 block of Highland, Mundelein, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol, having a driver's license expired for more than a year, improper traffic lane usage, expired registration, and was arrested at 4:21 a.m. May 22, at Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue. Bond was set at $20,000.
BOND FORFEITURE
Fernando R. Medellin, 43, of the 2200 block of W. Nichols Road, Arlington Heights, had a warrant out of McHenry County for bond forfeiture, and was arrested at 3:34 p.m May 23, at W. Dundee and Old Arlington Heights roads. Police had stopped Medellin's vehicle for having an expired license plate. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of June 6.

INCIDENTS
FLEEING OR ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE A PEACE OFFICER
While in the area of Arlington Heights and Dundee roads at 8:29 a.m. May 23, police saw a person driving a vehicle while not wearing a seatbelt. Police pulled over the vehicle in the area of Bernard and Regent drives. As the officer approached the vehicle, it drove off, hitting another vehicle. The vehicle made a U-turn and drove toward the officer, almost striking him. The vehicle was seen southbound on Arlington Heights Road. The investigation is ongoing.
THEFT
A person reported at 8:52 p.m. May 23, that their bicycle, which was left outside a business in the 400 block of Half Day Road on May 19, was missing. Police checked the area around the plaza for the bike, but did not find anything.
