Graffiti Found In Various Spots At Prairie View Metra Station: Blotter
Police said the graffiti was written in black, blue, red and silver marker: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
- Maxim Garabjiu, 40, of the 0-100 block of Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, improper traffic lane usage, and was arrested at 11:30 p.m. May 13, at Dundee and Golfview roads. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of June 8.
- Yessenia Merino, 24, of the 1000 block of N. Central Park Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 8:50 p.m. May 14, in the 1100 block of W. Lake Cook Road. She was also cited for improper lane usage and speeding 21-25 mph over the speed limit. She was released on bond and was assigned a court date of May 31.

INCIDENTS
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
- A person contacted police to report that between 3:45 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. May 13, the catalytic converter on their work van was stolen on N. Barclay Boulevard.
- An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Abbott Court reported at 8 a.m. May 16, the catalytic converter from their work truck had been stolen while the car had been parked during the overnight hours. The truck was the only one in the lot that had its catalytic converter taken.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

- A Live Oak Lane resident reported at 12:36 p.m. May 13, she received a suspicious email stating she had purchased a laptop for $1,267.89. At the bottom of the email was a phone number for the fraud department. The resident called the number and the person answering the phone started asking for personal information. The resident did not give the person any information, called police, and has seen no fraudulent activity in her bank accounts.
- A Brunswick Drive resident called police at 3:04 p.m. May 13, to report they had been receiving harassing phone calls throughout the day. The caller impersonated an official from the Social Security Administration and called from a variety of different numbers. The caller asked the resident to go to her bank and withdraw $900 and bring the money to the Social Security Administration building in Wheeling. The resident went to her bank with the caller on speakerphone. A bank employee overheard the conversation and told her she was the victim of a scam.
VANDALISM
A Willow Parkway resident reported at 12:24 p.m. May 14, they found a spoiled milk product that had been spilled over their front porch during the overnight hours.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT OF PROPERTY
A person called police at 8:53 p.m. May 15, to report they found graffiti in the restroom at the Prairie View Metra Station West, 2701 Main St. Police found graffiti written in black, blue, red and silver marker in the men's bathroom, women's bathroom, on the windows and benches of platform 2, and on the windows of the Pace bus stop.
ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS
While on patrol at 12:57 a.m. May 16, in the 900 block of N. McHenry Road, police found an unoccupied vehicle parked near the skate park. Due to recent requests by the Buffalo Grove Park District to check local parks in the area for damage caused by unknown people, police searched the area for the owner of the vehicle. Police heard people being loud near the Spray and Play Park on McHenry Road. Police found six people sitting at a table, consuming an unknown beverage, in the playground. They also saw a male stand up from the table, walk to the east side of the building and throw a glass bottle at the stone exterior of the wall. The bottle shattered as several others began laughing. Police called for additional units. All six people were identified and given adjudication tickets for trespassing. They were told they would be cited for trespassing if they returned for any reason, before they picked up the glass and left the park.
