Drunken Driver Crashes Into Tree: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• Larry J. Meyer, 64, of the 6200 block of W. Berenice Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, having an expired registration, not using headlights when required, and was arrested at 1:35 a.m. Jan. 27, in the 400 block of W. Dundee Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 14.
• Roman Karpyk, 23, of the 4200 block of Bonhill Drive, Arlington Heights, is accused of DUI alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 11:54 p.m. Jan. 27, at Dundee and Buffalo Grove roads. Police were checking on a disabled vehicle, driven by Karpyk, that had crashed into a tree off the roadway at the time of the arrest. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 14.
• Andrew David Robinson, 28, of the 200 block of N. Butterfield Road, Libertyville, is accused of driving under the influence of drugs, improper traffic lane usage, disregarding a traffic control light, and was arrested at 2:03 p.m. Jan. 26, in the 1000 block of Whitehall Drive. Police were responding to a car crash, which involved Robinson, near Lake Cook and Arlington Heights roads when the arrest was made. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 26.
