Drunken Driver Slumped At Wheel Had Warrant: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter

The Wheeling resident was taken to the Lake County Jail for the warrant following an arrest in the Jewel-Osco parking lot.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

  • Jose L. Samano Alvear, 45, of the 1000 block of Beverly Drive, Wheeling, is accused of driving on a suspended license, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, expired registration, and was arrested at 8:54 a.m. March 29, at Dundee and Weidner roads. He was released and assigned a court date of April 12.
  • Devonta Malik Maxey, 28, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, is accused of driving on a suspended license operating an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit, and was arrested at 5:47 p.m. March 30, in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road. He was released and assigned a court date of April 19.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

  • Andrik Gael Virto Toledo, 20, of the 900 block of N. Highland Avenue, Aurora, is accused of driving under the influence, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 2:48 a.m. March 23, at W. Lake Cook and Weidner roads. He was released and assigned a court date of April 10.
  • Jose Mario Rivera, 52, of the 1100 block of Plesant Run Drive, Wheeling, is accused of aggravated DUI, possession of a fraudulent ID card, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 6:10 p.m. March 24, at Jewel, 79 McHenry Road. Police found Rivera-Garcia slumped over the wheel of his car. After being processed for the arrest, he was taken to Lake County Jail for an active warrant.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Police responded to the 800 block of Weidner Road at 1:37 a.m. April 2, to a delayed criminal damage to property report. A complainant told police someone had entered the parking lot and was breaking into cars. They said damage was done to their vehicle, but nothing was taken.

THEFT

Police responded to the Shell Gas Station, 185 N. Milwaukee Ave., at 3:38 a.m. April 2, for a theft report. An employee told police someone stole a 12-pack of Modelo beer, valued at $18.39.
