BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Li Wang, 52, of the 300 block of W. 24th Street, Chicago, is accused of prostitution, had a warrant out of DuPage County for bond forfeiture, and was arrested at 4:55 p.m. Dec. 13, in the 200 block of W. Dundee Road. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail on the warrant charge and assigned a court date of Jan. 12, 2024, for the new charge.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE

Johnny Rodriguez, 31, of the 200 block of E. Fabish, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, having a suspended registration, having an expired registration, and was arrested at 3:41 p.m. Dec. 15, at E. Deerfield Parkway and E. Fabish Drive. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 10, 2024.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • A complainant called police at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 14, to report a front passenger side tire was slashed while it was parked in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Windbrooke Drive.
  • Police responded at 9:23 p.m. Dec. 19, to a criminal damage to property report in the 400 block of Burnt Ember Lane. A complainant told police he had heard "loud bangs" against his home. When he went out to investigate, he discovered eggs cracked against the home and a car. Police found egg residue on a garage door, front window, electrical socket and vehicle. The homeowner said the eggs had got stuck in the electrical socket, created an internal wiring issue and caused his holiday light display to shut off.
  • Police responded at 11:39 p.m. Dec. 19, to Burger King, 80 McHenry Road, for a criminal damage to property incident. An employee told police a customer had got irate about his order, and then fired five BB pellets at several windows of the restaurant before driving away on Lake Cook Road.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 900 block of Cooper Court reported that between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Dec. 14, someone had entered their home and stolen various items.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

A citizen called police to report her 2014 maroon Nissan Rogue was missing after it had been parked near her address at 9 p.m. Dec. 14, in the 0-10 block of Oak Creek Drive.

RETAIL THEFT

Police responded to Aldi's, 1202 W. Dundee Road, at 12:45 p.m. Dec. 19, for a reported retail theft. Two male subjects had exited the store through the entry door with a cart full of groceries without paying for them. The two were seen in the parking lot putting items from the cart into a black, Toyota Solara.
