New Laptop Stolen From Car During Pizza Trip: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter
A person told police that the MacBook Air was stolen from the passenger's side of his car while he was at the restaurant.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

- Tetyana Matkovska, 60, of the 600 block of Indian Spring Lane, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, expired registration, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 8:01 p.m. Dec. 7, in the 800 block of Dunham Lane. She was released and was assigned a court date of Jan. 10, 2024.
- Juan G. Gomez-Perez, 51, of the 1700 block of Cardinal Court, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, disregarding a traffic control device, and was arrested at 1:02 a.m. Dec. 9, at W. Lake Cook and McHenry roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 10, 2024.
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
- Jovanny Ayala, 23, of the 500 block of Wimbledon Drive, Prospect Heights, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving on a suspended registration, and was arrested at 4 p.m. Dec. 9, at St. Mary's Parkway and Crestview Terrace. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 12, 2024.
- Iryna Pavlivna Peters, 44, of the 0-10 block of Villa Verde Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating a motor vehicle with an expired registration, and was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Dec. 9, in the 1100 block of W. Lake Cook Road. She was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 12, 2024.

INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Police responded at 5:27 pm. Dec. 8, to a call of a suspicious person in the 900 block of W. Dundee Road. A person told police that while they were walking past the abandoned Saturn car dealership when they saw two people wearing all black and black ski masks. The person said one was tall and the other was short, and they were breaking glass on the building. Police found no one on the premises upon arrival to investigate. Multiple windows were damaged and the front double glass doors were pried open.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
Police responded to Mod's Pizza, 1555 E. Deerfield Parkway, at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 9, for a call of a burglary to a vehicle. A complainant told police that he had just bought a new laptop and stopped to get dinner at Mod Pizza. He said he parked at 8:15 p.m. and left the laptop on the passenger side floor. He later returned to the car to find the front passenger window smashed and the MacBook Air missing.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT
Police responded to a home in the 800 block of Essington Lane at 7:45 a.m. Dec. 10, for a report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident told police he had parked his gray Honda CRV in the driveway the previous night and noticed it was missing when he went to leave his house that morning.
