This course is designed for anyone interested in learning American Sign Language (ASL). Students are introduced to ASL including the alphabet, vocabulary (approx 400 words), numbers, basic sentence structure, negatives, questions and directional verbs. Elements of Deaf Culture are woven throughout each lesson. Students will learn to sign simple sentences and convey meaning from basic everyday conversation. For ages 14 and up. Course materials will be provided. 8 sessions
