ARCOA Group announced that they will be sponsoring, in association with School District 21 of Wheeling, a FREE Electronics Recycling Event for individuals and businesses on Saturday April 14th from 7:00 am- 12:00 noon at London Middle School located at 1001 West Dundee Road Wheeling, IL.
In addition, District 21 will be hosting its second annual Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 9.00 AM until 12.30 PM at Jack London Middle School. They will be highlighting the importance of health and wellness in the community. Informational breakout sessions, over 20 local vendor booths, physical activity sessions for the whole family, and prizes will all be a part of this spectacular event!
District 21 includes Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Northbrook, Mount Prospect, Wheeling, and Prospect Heights. There are 13 schools in the district. The purpose of District 21 schools is to provide a learning environment for all students to become life long learners and productive citizens.
In January 2012 a new law went into effect banning any electronic items from landfills. This is an event to help businesses and home owners legally discard their old electronics. “All computer hard drives are guaranteed to be wiped clean in the recycling process.” Stated ARCOA President, George Hinkle.
ITEMS ACCEPTED for Recycling: computers & laptops *TVs (less than 27”) & remotes, monitors, scanners/copiers, satellite dishes, printers & fax machines, small kitchen appliances, keyboards & mice, blow dryers & curling irons, cameras & DVRs, pagers, PDAs & two-way radios, iPods & MP3 players, phones & answering machines, CD, DVD & VCR players, electronic typewriters, power cords, cables, modems & computer components
ITEMS NOT BEING ACCEPTED: microwaves, light bulbs, white goods (heavy consumer durables such as air conditioners, refrigerators, stoves, etc., which used to be painted only in white enamel finish), paint, or batteries/hazardous items.
