Tryouts for the Junior Patriot Basketball feeder program will be held Sunday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 13 in the Stevenson High School Fieldhouse. The Junior Patriot program is open to boys and girls in grades 6-8 who live in District 125. Tryouts are free, but prospective players need to register in advance through the Junior Patriot Basketball website at www6.district125.k12.il.us/prep/jrpatsbasketball. Players need to bring their own basketball to tryouts, and are encouraged to attend both dates.
The tryout times on Nov. 6 and 13 will be noon to 1:30 p.m. for eighth grade, 1:45 to 3:15 p.m. for seventh grade, and 3:30 to 5 p.m. for sixth grade.
The competitive program teaches fundamental offensive and defensive skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. Each team will play approximately 30-35 games and have 20 practices. The season runs through March. The cost of the program is $525; payment isn't required until after final team selections are made.
For more information, contact Junior Patriot Basketball Coordinator Tom Kelly at tkelly@d125.org or 847-415-4429.
