Explore the exciting world of chamber percussion music! If you love to "hit things" and are tired of counting endless measures of rests, then this is the antidote. With a plethora of cutting edge new repertoire along with noteworth classics, there is something for everyone. The only requirements are a basic understanding of reading music and a zest to play and learn. Through studying and performing pieces ranging from African tribal drumming inspired to dazzling marimba ensembles of Bach, students will develop their musicianship, interpretive, and ensemble Skills that will complement and further enhance their experiences in band and orchestra. Students will have the opportunity to perform and showcase the pieces rehearsed nearing completion of the semester. 11 sessions
