SHABBAT ACROSS AMERICA
On Friday night, March 4, hundreds of synagogues across the continent will take part in an historic national Jewish event to celebrate what unifies all Jews: Shabbat! Everyone is invited...singles, couples, families - all ages. Congregation Beth Judea, IL Route 83 and Hilltop Road in Long Grove will be participating in SHABBAT ACROSS AMERICA during a Shabbat dinner and service on that date. A Tot Service will begin at 6:00 PM; dinner begins at 6:30 PM and services led by Congregation Beth Judea youth begin at 7:30 PM. Dinner consists of salad, chicken, vegetables and baked potatoes. A vegetarian alternative is available upon request. Cost: Adults $15; children ages 8 and under $5; children over 8 $7. Family cost (members being in the same household) $38. SHABBAT ACROSS AMERICA is an unparalleled display of unity and Ahavat Yisrael, created in the hope of making certain that every North American Jew will have the opportunity to celebrate Shabbat. Imagine an entire Friday evening dinner devoted to people who want to know more about Judaism! It's an interactive prayer service and joyous Shabbat dinner complete with song, ritual and lively discussion. It is a fun-filled evening of camaraderie that unifies Jews everywhere as one people. Last year, tens of thousands of Jews at hundreds of locations across North America celebrated Shabbat together.
