Five Ways Your Business Can Capitalize on Videography

Tips to take advantage of video to promote your business.

Technology has come a long way in the last twenty years. Favorite Disney cartoons are being made into live action films because we now have the resources to make the unimaginable, reality. How does this affect your business? The need for greater visual representation is growing. From advertisement to interviews, videos are the go-to model for everyday business needs.

How can you use videography in your business?

1. Livestreaming. Skype and Facetime paved the way for Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram livestreaming. Celebrities use it for Q and A’s, people use it for promoting their wares and businesses use it to connect to their customers. What’s the best way to keep the general public up-to-date on changes, new deals, promotions and the daily happenings of the company? Let them see it as it unfolds! The best way to gain clientele and keep people interested is to make it personal and give them a taste of being a part of the process. It lets them see behind the business into the people who run it, in turn, giving them a reason to invest in it.

2. Vlogging. A similar concept to livestreaming except it’s recorded ahead of time and posted later. This is great for businesses who deal with Do It Yourself (DIY) projects or How-To videos. A fabrics company, for instance, could utilize this avenue to show people what can be done with fabrics other than simply sewing a blanket. Make it creative, but be sure to keep it professional.

3. Interviews. With cross country applications becoming more prominent, consider using videos as a means of interviewing. It doesn’t always have to be viewed live, it can be a recorded video. Why is this great? It gives you the chance to see a person rather than speak to them through the phone. First impressions are garnered as much from vocal interaction as from physical representation. Another plus, it’s done at the convenience of both parties without having to juggle schedules around.

4. Reviews. Reading a review is great, but there’s nothing quite like watching a real person review a real company or product. Especially if it’s a before and after review. Seeing physical evidence is beneficial to the client, the business and the potential business.

5. About. Every business has a page that explains the company, its values and who the key players are. More often than not, your company motto sounds quite similar to another company’s motto. How can you make it stand out? Talk about it. Consider videoing the key players of the company; interview them and let them speak rather than writing it for them. Let the employees answer the big questions, “What does the company stand for?” and “What are the main values?” Sometimes a face to the name is all that’s needed for people to connect.

Digitalization has only just begun. Technology is only going to continue to grow. Who knows, holograms may be closer than we think! Even more reason to keep abreast of the changes. Investigate vlogging, try livestreaming and get the whole company involved. One little video has the power to do a lot of good.
