Garden Fresh Parking Dispute Arrest Made: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

A Deerfield resident is accused of assault, criminal damage to property following the incident.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Gregory L. Werner, 39, of Villa Verde Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 12:44 a.m. June 5. He was taken to Cook County Bond Court on June 7.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

  • Mark F. Szczesny, 53, of the 500 block of Old McHenry Road, Hawthorn Woods, is accused of driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration, and was arrested at 5:04 p.m. June 8, at the 0-40 block of E. Dundee Road. He was released on a $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of July 15.
  • Christian Javon Richardson, 28, of the 1200 block of Quincy Court, Wheeling, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 1:54 a.m. June 15, in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road. Richardson was issued two traffic citations and released after paying a $2,500 bond. He was assigned a future court date of July 15.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Mikhail D. Shilshtut, 45, of the 500 block of Inverrary Lane, Deerfield, is accused of assault, criminal damage to property, and was arrested at noon June 13, at Garden Fresh, 700 block of Buffalo Grove Road. Police said Shilshtut was involved in a driving/parking dispute. Police said Shilshtut assaulted someone and damaged the windshield of their vehicle. Shilshtut was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of July 29.

OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH NO VALID LICENSE

Jovany Gomez, 20, is accused of operating a motor vehicle with no valid license, and was arrested at 11:10 p.m. June 14, in the 4000 block of N. Schaefer Road, Arlington Heights. He received two traffic citations and was released after paying a $2,500 bond. Gomez was assigned a court date of July 15.

INCIDENTS

BURGLARY TO A MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 0-100 block of Bel Aire Court reported that during the overnight hours of June 10, someone entered his Jeep and stole several items. The resident was unsure if the vehicle was locked at the time of the incident.
  • A person called police at 5 p.m. June 10, to report their vehicle was entered earlier in the day while it was parked in the Walgreens parking lot in the 1700 block of N. Buffalo Grove Road. A small amount of money was taken.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

While driving westbound on Dundee Road at 9:44 p.m. June 10, police saw a visual and audible alarm going off at the former Saturn dealership, now owned by the Napleton Auto Group. They advised Northwest Central Dispatch System of the alarm. Police also found the northeast entrance glass door shattered, with a rock inside the building. Police found no one inside.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT OF PROPERTY

A Buffalo Grove Park District employee called police at 12:51 p.m. June 11, to report they found the right dumpster door vandalized with white spray paint at Spray N Play, 900 block of N. McHenry Road. The employee said they were at the dumpsters the prior night and the paint was not on the door at that time.
