Man Tries To Flee Police; BB-Gun Holes: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

Police said a man tried to elude them prior to his arrest; a homeowner found BB-gun holes in the side of his house.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

Giovannie Bahena, 30, of the 800 block of Westmoreland Drive, Vernon Hills, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 9:25 a.m. May 30, at Lake Cook Road and N. Milwaukee Avenue. Bahena was released after posting $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of July 15.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Katy Pietrini, 42, of the 700 block of W. Easton Court, Palatine, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, speeding, and was arrested at 7:34 p.m. May 30, at Lake Cook Road near Milwaukee Avenue. Pietrini was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

FLEEING/ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE POLICE

Jonathan H. Rudd, 28, of the 3700 block of N. Monticello Avenue, Chicago, is accused of aggravated fleeing/attempting to elude police, driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 10:24 a.m. May 31, in the 700 block of Farrington Drive. Rudd was given a $50,000 bond and taken to Lake County Jail. A court date of June 1 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

VANDALISM

While patrolling in the area of the 1900 block of Buffalo Grove Road at 7:40 a.m. May 27, police found spray-painted graffiti on the park property. In addition, the pavement, trash cans and port-a-potty corral had been spray-painted. It was unknown when the incident occurred. Public Works was notified.

THEFT

A Hapsfield Lane resident reported at 7:26 p.m. June 1, they had a package delivered that day by UPS that was stolen from their apartment building's lobby.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

A Terrace Place resident called police at 10 a.m. June 4, to report both their vehicles had been searched through while parked unlocked in the driveway. They found the glove boxes and center consoles of both vehicles open, with miscellaneous paperwork spread throughout the vehicle. The complainant said they keep cash in the center console, which was missing, but nothing else appeared missing.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

A resident in the 0-20 block of Oak Creek Drive reported at 3:20 p.m. June 5, that they had left for the weekend and upon returning, noticed the hitch of their truck was missing. They had last seen it on June 4 before leaving. Nothing was taken other than the hitch.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A Red Bud Place resident called police at 6:32 a.m. June 6, to report they found multiple holes in the siding-covered building consistent with a BB-gun. Police responded to the scene and found them as well.
