Gun-Toting Teen Indicted for Bringing Weapon to Stevenson High School

 A 17-year-old Buffalo Grove boy was indicted Wednesday on weapon charges for allegedly bringing a gun in his backpack into a classroom at Stevenson High School on Dec. 4, according to the Lake County News-Sun.

Lamont Glenn, a junior at Stevenson High School, remains in custody on a $50,000 bail at the Hulse Detention Center in the Depke Juvenile Justice Complex in Vernon Hills and is next expected in court on Jan. 6 for an arraignment hearing, according to the article.

Lincolnshire police were called to Stevenson on Dec. 4 after a student texted a parent to say a classmate had a gun and the parent then tipped off police, according to a Daily Herald article from early December. Police said Glenn was located in a classroom and the gun was found in a nearby backpack. No one was hurt and Glenn did not share with police what his intentions were with the gun.

Due to the nature of the crime, prosecutors said they decided to charge Glenn in adult court, according to a Daily Herald article from early December.
