Holmes Jazz Ensemble performs at Midwest Clinic

Holmes Middle School Jazz Ensemble was just one of two middle school bands to perform at the world-renowned Midwest Clinic.

The Jazz Ensemble from Holmes Middle School was just one of two middle school bands invited to perform before an international audience this December at the world-renowned Midwest Clinic. The 25-member ensemble is comprised of sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.

“The students’ dedication to performing music is unparalleled and it was quite an honor for our students to be invited to perform at the Midwest Clinic,” said Martin Hopkins, Principal of Holmes Middle School.

The performance took place on Thursday, December 15. “The 50th Sting” was among the eight songs that the jazz ensemble performed. The song was composed specifically for the jazz ensemble by Nate Kimball to mark Holmes Middle School’s 50th anniversary.
