Indian Trails Library Names New Director

David Seleb has been selected to take the helm of the Wheeling-based library.

David Seleb has been appointed as the new director of the effective Nov. 1.

Seleb, who has served as since 2007, has 22 years of library experience, including five years as director of the Blue Island (IL) Public Library and positions at the Metropolitan Library System and at the Suburban Library System. 

In an Indian Trails press release, Library Board President Wally Salganik said, "Seleb has a proven track record in providing effective leadership to previous libraries and communities where he has served. He has a good understanding of present library needs, and he has foresight and imagination with respect to trends in library services."

Seleb replaces in April, after about a year and half at the library's helm.

Seleb holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier College and a master's degree in library and information science from Dominican University. He is active in a number of professional associations including the Illinois Library Association and the American Library Association. He is also involved in several community groups and is a Board Member of the Winnetka Chamber of Commerce as well as Family Service of Winnetka-Northfield.
