London students and staff face off in basketball game, raise money

London Middle School students and staff members raised $286 for the Wheeling Food Pantry during a students v. staff basketball game.

London Middle School students and staff members took to the basketball court for a good cause on Friday, December 2. The cost of admission was $2 or a food item to benefit the Wheeling Food Pantry. In total, spectators donated $286 and more than 100 pounds of food.

“The basketball game was an exciting idea to rally our school around a great cause,” said Luis Correa, Principal at London Middle School. “Our students and staff were very enthusiastic to give back to our community.”

CCSD21 schools collect food items to donate to the Wheeling Food Pantry throughout the year. For more information about the Food Pantry, visit www.wheelingfoodpantry.org.
