Man Driving Erratically Resists Arrest: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter
Multiple 911 calls had been made regarding his driving in the Woodman's Grocery parking lot.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Steven D. Weinberg, 42, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Aug. 7, in the 70 block of McHenry Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 26.
SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Josiah J. Giles, 20, of the 900 block of Countrywood Drive, Zion, had a warrant, was driving on a suspended license, unlawful possession of firearms, and was arrested at 4:17 p.m. Aug. 8, in the 900 block of E. Busch Parkway. Police had responded to the address for an unwanted person, later identified as Giles, who was in a black BMW on the west side of the parking lot, refusing to leave. Giles was released on the new charges and given a new court date of Aug. 28, before being taken to the Lake County Jail on the warrant charge.
RESISTING A PEACE OFFICER
Michael J. Pryor, 32, of the 25500 block of S. McCorkle, Monee, is accused of impeding the performance of official duties, resisting a peace officer, and was arrested at 10:36 a.m. Aug. 10, at Woodman's Grocery, 1550 E. Deerfield Parkway. Police had been called to Woodman's for multiple 911 calls regarding a vehicle driving erratically in the parking lot. When confronted by police, Pryor reportedly refused to identify himself and began to try and enter his vehicle to leave. Police said he failed to listen to commands. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 26.

INCIDENTS
THEFT
Police responded to the 800 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue at 7:14 p.m. Aug. 7, for a delayed theft report. The complainant said they had attached their solar-powered phone battery device to the parking lot streetlight, located in front of the address, but later found it was missing.
RETAIL THEFT
- Police responded to Woodman's Grocery, 1550 E. Deerfield Parkway, at 1:34 p.m. Aug. 8, for a retail theft report. A male customer had concealed unpaid groceries inside his shopping cart, and then left the store without paying for them. He was given an adjudication citation for retail theft and a trespass warning.
- Police responded to Jewel-Osco, 79 McHenry Road, at 7:47 p.m. Aug. 8, for a retail theft report. A male had taken $867.71 of merchandise on the prior day. He was wearing black and white shoes, blue jeans, a black jacket, and a red and white cap. He had placed a two-liter bottle of soda into a shopping cart and then continued to walk around the store. He also began taking over-the-counter medication items and placing them into a reusable bag near the rear of the cart. The man had reportedly placed 29 items into the reusable bag and only paid for the soda before exiting.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Police were called to Willow Stream Park, 651 Old Checker Road, at 9:05 a.m. Aug. 11, for criminal damage to property report. A witness said they were walking along a path and the port-potty was not tipped, but was a short time later.
