BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Andrew J. Stein, 28, of the 0-100 block of Greenview Lane, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 12:49 a.m. Feb. 8, following a traffic crash at Milwaukee Avenue and Lake Cook Road. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond and was assigned a court date of March 9.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Juan C. Carrillo, 28, of Mount Prospect, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 15, in the 200 block of Lake Boulevard. He was released on an I-Bond and a court date of March 18 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

An employee of Woodman's Food Market, 1500 block of E. Deerfield Parkway, reported at 12:43 p.m. Feb. 8, a woman tried to take store merchandise and leave the store without paying. She was detained and $34.95 in products, including Vicks Vapo Rub, Vicks Mist, Nielmed Sinufrin, one package of snow crab legs and one package of cooked shrimp, were recovered. She was given a court date of March 8 and was told she's no longer allowed on the premises.

THEFT

An employee of a doctor's office in the 1400 block of E. Lake Cook Road called police at 7 p.m. Feb. 11, to report earlier in the day, his black leather wallet containing two credit cards, his driver's license, $60-80 in cash, and miscellaneous other cards on his desk in his office. He said he went to see a patient in another room and left his wallet unattended at his desk. He was notified by his bank of several transactions made on his credit cards totaling more than $20,000. He said he didn't suspect any of his patients took his wallet. A receptionist said two women came into the office with one distracting her, while they lost sight of the other woman.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A Bristol Lane resident reported at 8:07 a.m. Feb. 12, he had parked his car in the driveway the previous night. He went to the car in the morning and found the rear passenger door and trunk open. It appeared someone had gone through the car and several items were missing. The resident believes he had locked his car. No forced entry was found. Among the times missing were an Adidas bag, backpack containing Adidas clothing, paperwork, iPad, iPod and a radar detector.
  • A resident of the 400 block of Towne Place Circle called police at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14, to report that earlier in the day, he had opened his garage door, started his vehicle to warm it up and went back inside his residence. After returning to his car, he noticed a garage opener keychain was missing from is rearview mirror, as well as purple Adidas basketball shoes that were in the backseat.

DISPUTE

A customer at a car wash in the 0-100 block of W. Dundee Road, reported at 1:34 p.m. Feb. 12, that when they went through the car wash, it felt like the car behind them bumped into their back bumper. The customer then parked their car in the parking lot to go inside and pay when a man parked their car next to them, got out and stated yelling profanities at them. The man accused the customer of cutting in front of them at the car wash entrance. The man had left the car wash prior to police arrival. He was driving a red Ford Escape.
