BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

Olinda Del Carm Torrez Toruno, 23, of the 4100 block of Bonhill Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of two counts of possessing a fraudulent ID card, operating a motor vehicle with no valid driver's license, suspended registration, and was arrested at 12:37 p.m. Jan. 2, at W. Lake Cook and Weidner roads. She was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 7.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

Jose A. Villa, 24, of the 2100 block of S. 5th Street, Maywood, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating a vehicle with an expired registration, and was arrested at 3:46 a.m. Jan. 6, at N. Arlington Heights and Lake Cook roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 14.

ENDANGERING THE LIFE OF A CHILD

Roman Yashchuk, 29, of the 1500 block of S. Wolf Road, Prospect Heights, is accused of endangering the life of a child, and was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Jan. 6, at Jewel-Osco, 79 McHenry Road. Police responded to the grocery store for a report of a child left unattended in a running vehicle. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 22.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY

Omar Murillo Jr., 25, of the 1000 block of N. Sterling Avenue, Palatine, is accused of aggravated battery, resisting a peace officer, obstructing identification, theft, and was arrested at 8:43 p.m. Dec. 30, in the 1000 block of Miller Lane.

INCIDENTS

PUBLIC COMPLAINT FIRE/EXPLOSION

Police responded to Willow Stream Park, 651 Old Checker Road, at 6:41 p.m. Jan. 4, for an explosion and possible fire. They found a fire in the baseball diamond at the north field. Police found multiple small fires in a group and could smell gasoline. The fire stopped burning on its own and the Buffalo Grove Fire Department arrived on the scene. Police said there appeared to be no damage sustained to the baseball field.
