Man Uses Fake Bills At Taco Bell Drive-Thru: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter

The driver later committed the same crime at a Jimmy John's location in Buffalo Grove, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Julia Armitage, 59, of the 26000 block of W. IL Route 22, Barrington, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, illegal transportation of liquor by a driver, driver's license not on person, violating a traffic control signal, and was arrested at 4:51 p.m. Oct. 11, at Strathmore Court and S. Arlington Heights Road. She was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 25.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLES

Artur Martirosyan, 31, of the 300 block of E. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove, is accused of criminal trespass to vehicles, and was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12, in the 300 block of E. Dundee Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 17.

DRIVING WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED

Jac W. Goelz, 24, of the 20800 block of N. Ash Street, Deerfield, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, using an electronic device while driving, and was arrested at 4:16 p.m. Oct. 17, at W. Deerfield Parkway and Old Barn Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 17.

INCIDENTS

FORGERY

Police responded to Taco Bell, 50 W. Dundee Road, at 2:36 p.m. Oct. 15, for a report of fraudulent activity. An employee told police that a customer had entered their drive-thru and made two transactions for around $10 total. The driver of the car handed the cashier what appeared to be a $20 bill and they were given the food and change. The offender then requested a drink, handed the cashier another bill, which appeared to be a $20. They were given the drink and change. After the driver left, an employee noticed the two bills were counterfeit. Police said the driver committed the same crime with a counterfeit $20 bill at Jimmy John's. In that incident, they bought two bags of chips, totaling $4.16. They were given $15.74 in change.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A citizen reported at 4:12 p.m. Oct. 16, his car had been parked in the 0-10 block of Oak Creek Drive and at sometime in the prior three hours, the vehicle's rear window was damaged. Police said the rear glass window appeared to be smashed out.
