The expression- this is the first day of the rest of your life, garners more and more value. Until the time, of no value and our life lies at rest.
Try to look at it, as when you purchase a new item of clothes or jewelry or a car. You're excited to wear it, display it or drive it, for the first time and maybe at a special occasion. You love having it. It defines you.
As time moves on, a tread may have gotten snagged, the luster may dull or a small dent magnifies in your sight. They're all still functional, yet your attention is dimmed on your affinity for that possession.
Unless you're on some mood altering drug, legal or not, for the most part, your likes move on. You have a memory of it and that's now slightly altered or faded.
There comes a time in your life (for no one- it's the same) when your dreams and perception of reality don't mold together. These are the trying times, the testing times. The time that you reach a crossroad.
This is one of the most important times in your lifetime.
How you react and what you decide, are those precious gifts of life, for each of us. Some are minor conflicts, will others are gigantic.
We really can't stop time from moving on, except in that exact instant that you make a realization- a common connection of you and the universe. That spark of acknowledgment, completely within yourself, that regardless of the circumstances, good or bad- YOU ARE ALIVE!
