Motorcyclist Flees Cops, Nabbed For Drugs: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter

The Arlington Heights resident faces four charges stemming from the incident last week, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

FLEEING A PEACE OFFICER

Jasmine V. Miguel, 22, of the 400 block of Circle Hill, Arlington Heights, is accused of fleeing a peace officer, possession of cannabis (more than 100 grams), possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, obstructing a peace officer, and was arrested at 10:12 a.m. May 22, in the 10 block of Oak Creek Drive. Police said they had attempted to stop Miguel, who was riding a dirt motorcycle without side mirrors, brake lights, or a headlight near Old Arlington Heights Road and Dundee Road, but she did not stop. Police found the motorcycle on Oak Creek Drive, where Miguel reportedly tried to run away from police on foot. She was eventually apprehended. After her arrest, Miguel was released and assigned a court date of May 28.

Aleksandr Okun, 29, of the 1500 block of N. Winsdor Drive, Arlington Heights, had a warrant out of Cook County for failure to appear in court on a driving on a suspended license charge, and was arrested at 12:28 a.m. May 24, at the Aldi parking lot on Arlington Heights and Dundee roads.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Jesse J. Smith, 31, of the 500 block of Beechwood Road, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of drugs, possession of cannabis (over 100 grams), three charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and was arrested at 5:35 a.m. May 24, in the 700 block of Bernard Drive. Police said they had found Smith asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at the corner of Weidner and Bernard roads. He was released following his arrest.

BOND FORFEITURE WARRANT

Marcus D. Buford, 37, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, had a warrant out of Lake County for bond forfeiture on a domestic battery charge, and was arrested at 7:35 p.m. May 25, at N. Arlington Heights Road and Heritage Place. Police originally pulled Buford over for driving with no license plate. He was taken to the Lake County Jail.
