Multiple Crimes Reported At Gym: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

Credit cards and cash were stolen from several lockers at the fitness center, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

  • Dante Valenzuela-Molina, 72, of Tampa, Florida, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 12:38 a.m. Nov. 28, in the 2100 block of E. Lake Cook Road. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Dec. 21.
  • Jerome D. Drain, 37, of the 500 block of Fairway View Drive, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 4:08 a.m. Dec. 3, after police found his car crashed into a tree in the 600 block of W. Lake Cook Road. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Jan. 19, 2023.
  • Evan C. Mikrut, 28, of the 1400 block of N. Elmhurst, Mount Prospect, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 4:24 a.m. Dec. 3, at McHenry Road and Checker Drive. He was released on bond and was assigned a court date of Dec. 21.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

  • Igor Lantsevich, 56, of the 400 block of Ferndale Court, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving with a revoked license, following too closely, and was arrested at 8:19 a.m. Nov. 29, in the 1300 block of Abbott Court. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of Dec. 16.
  • Keith Hayer, 31, of the 7800 block of S. Throop Street, Chicago, had a warrant for driving while license revoked, and was arrested at 7:27 p.m. Nov. 29, following his release from Statesville Correctional Center. He was released after posting a $20,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Dec. 21.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • A citizen reported that between 1:36 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Nov. 29, someone removed two credit cards from his wallet that was in his locked locker at Sky Fitness, 1501 E. Busch Parkway.
  • A citizen called police to report that during the afternoon hours of Nov. 29, two credit cards and approximately $200 in cash were taken from his wallet while he was at Sky Fitness, 1501 E. Busch Parkway.
  • A citizen reported that at around 2 p.m. Nov. 29, someone stole credit cards out of their purse while it was stored in a locker at Sky Fitness, 1501 E. Busch Parkway.
  • A citizen called police on Dec. 1 to report fraudulent activity on his credit card. When he was called by a department store where the fraudulent activity has occurred, he realized his credit card was missing. He believes it was taken between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. earlier that day when he was at Sky Fitness, 1501 E. Busch Parkway.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 1100 block of Greenridge Road reported that at some point of the day on Nov. 29, someone entered the residence and stole personal items from the home.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A manager at Four Points By Sheraton, 900 W. Lake Cook Road, reported that during the overnight hours of Dec. 3, someone had broken the beer tap at the bar. The beer tap had been forced open, and beer had been spilled over the bar and onto the floor. A suspected hotel guest was questioned about the incident as he was seen in the bar area during the overnight hours, but he denied damaging the beer tap when questioned by police.
