BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

- Jennifer A. McKnight, 33, of Rugby, North Dakota, is accused of having a suspended driver's license, improper display of registration plate, and was arrested at 11:04 a.m. Sept. 14, at Arlington Heights Road and Heritage. She was assigned a court date of Oct. 16.
- Michael D. Chaffer, 28, of the 20000 block of Clarice Avenue, Lincolnshire, is accused of having a suspended driver's license, and was arrested at 4:41 p.m. Sept. 15, in the 0-100 block of Dundee Road. He was assigned a court date of Nov. 17.
- Michael W. Donato, 66, of the 600 block of Vernon Lane, Buffalo Grove, is accused of having a revoked driver's license, improper traffic lane usage, and was arrested at 8:27 p.m. Sept. 16, at Lake Cook and McHenry roads.
- Sean Maurice Bowers, 38, of the 1400 block of E. Evergreen Drive, Palatine, is accused of having a revoked driver's license, uninsured motor vehicle, no seat belts, and was arrested at 5:05 p.m. Sept. 17, at Weiland Road and Deerfield Parkway. He was assigned a court date of Nov. 11.

INCIDENTS
ORDINANCE VIOLATION

Two males were reported to be riding minibikes around the neighborhood at 7:55 p.m. Sept. 13, and were being a nuisance in the 700 block of Dunhill Drive. An officer responded to the area and could not locate any minibikes or their riders.
NEIGHBOR DISPUTE
- A resident in the 0-100 block of S. Buffalo Grove Road called police at 8:17 p.m. Sept. 13, to report a dog was acting aggressively while being walked by its owner. No contact was made between the complainant and the dog.
- A resident in the 500 block of Buffalo Grove Road reported at 7 p.m. Sept. 19, that the neighbor is throwing leaves that have fallen off his tree back into his yard and let his lawn mower run for over an hour near his fence. The neighbor admitted running the lawn mower, saying he was trying to drown out the complainant's loud music. He was advised to call 911 in the future if the music is too loud.
NEIGHBORHOOD TROUBLE
- A resident in the 600 block of Hapsfield Lane reported at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 14, they could smell cigarette smoke from another unit insider of theirs. They were referred to the management company.
- A resident in the 900 block of Checker Drive called police at 10:32 p.m. Sept. 18, to report being approached by a neighbor and criticized about their upkeep of the property. Officers contacted the property owner who advised that he had given the vocal neighbor permission to trim the hedges on the property, however, that permission was now revoked after his conversation with the complainant (renter). The neighbor was advised not to go onto the property or speak with the residents.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
- The owner of Waterford Pointe Pro Center, 1425 N. McHenry Road, called police at 4:41 p.m. Sept. 14, to report two fraudulent checks bearing his company's name were presented at two different banks. One of the checks was identified as fraudulent and was confiscated. The other was processed and checked.
- A resident in the 1800 block of Brandywyn Lane reported at 8:54 a.m. Sept. 17, they received a call from someone saying they were a sergeant from the Morton Grove Police Department. The "sergeant" informed the resident they missed a court date and needed to bring a specific sum of Green Dot Cards to their police department. The caller ID identified the number as the Morton Grove Police Department, and the complainant contacted the police department. While waiting to speak to someone, they received a call from the Morton Grove Police Department, according to their caller ID. She switched over the call and discovered it was the same person who had called earlier. The complainant purchased the gift cards and provided the caller with the gift card information.
DUMPING/LITTERING
A building maintenance technician reported at 7 a.m. Sept. 15, that a company's delivery drivers have been dumping empty boxes into their dumpsters in the 0-100 block of Oak Creek Drive.
SELL LIQUOR TO PERSON UNDER 21
A cashier clerk at Garden Fresh Market, 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road, sold alcohol to a police department's underage agent during a liquor license establishment check at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 16. The clerk was issued an adjudication citation.
BARKING DOG
While an officer was conducting patrol in the area of the 100 block of Steeple Drive at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 16, she heard a dog barking over a period of several hours. She attempted to make contact with the dog owner, but no one was home. A citation was issued due to the excessive barking.
FOUND BIKE
A bicycle was recovered from the pond at 9:27 a.m., Sept. 17, at 851 Krause Drive. It appeared to be inoperable and was brought back to the station.
THEFT
A resident in the 400 block of LeParc Circle reported at 8 p.m. Sept. 17, a delivered package on her front porch had a hole torn in it and its contents were missing.
