Neighbors Not On Board With 214-Unit Residential Development
The development would be located on a 50-acre of land in an unincorporated area near Aptakisic and Buffalo Grove roads.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL - A proposed 214-unit residential development, which is to be built on 50 unincorporated acres that would be annexed into Buffalo Grove, has been met with criticism by some neighbors.
Traffic problems in the area of the development, which would be located at the former Link Farm, 16802 W. Aptakisic Road, is one of the main problems area residents cited Wednesday during a planning and zoning commission hearing where K. Hovnanian Homes presented its final plan for the project, the Daily Herald reports. The maintenance-free community would include 70 single-family homes, 73 two-story villas and 71 three story row homes.

The plan would also include widening Buffalo Grove Road to four lanes and making improvements to Prairie Grove Park. Michael Lessner, who lives near the proposed development, said traffic congestion would become worse with the addition, according to the Daily Herald.
"Try to get out of Brandywyn westbound onto Buffalo Grove Road in the morning or the afternoon," he said. "You see some very dangerous driving right now trying to get across the two lanes."

The planning and zoning commission is expected to discuss the proposed development further at an April 19 meeting.
