Pedestrian, 81, Killed After Being Hit By Car In Buffalo Grove: Police

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Police have still not determined the cause of a Saturday evening crash in which an 81-year-old Buffalo Grove man was killed after being struck by a car while walking on Buffalo Grove Road. Alex Gorn was rushed to Northwest Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police responded to the incident north of Golfview Terrace shortly after it occurred at around 7:48 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, a 2022 Chevy Silverado, was at the scene and reported no injuries. No citations or charges have been issued.

A portion of Buffalo Grove Road, between Golfview Terrace and Bernard Drive, was shut down for more around four hours.

Police said the crash is being investigated by members of the department’s traffic unit, with assistance from the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.
