The plastic bag ban in Chicago, which took effect on Aug. 1, could mean bad news for one Wheeling company’s bottom line.

Aargus Plastic Inc. and sister company Bio Star Films earn 35 percent of its revenue through business in Chicago and one client, Binny’s Beverage Depot has switched to a new bag manufacturer in light of the ban, according to the Daily Herald.

Binny’s, which used an average of 27,000 plastic bags each week, will now use compostable bags that neither Aargus or Bio Star produces, the newspaper reports.

It’s unclear at this point what the ban could mean for the companies bottom line, Scott Starr, president of Aargus and Bio Star, told the Daily Herald.
