Proactive water tests for CCSD21 yield positive results
CCSD21 Board members received results from voluntary, proactive water testing that took place across the district this summer.
At its meeting last week, Community Consolidated School District 21 Board of Education members received results from voluntary, proactive water testing that took place across the district this summer. Sinks and fountains tested across the district were all below “action levels” of copper and lead, as determined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
“CCSD21 will continue to be proactive in its monitoring and testing of water to ensure it remains within federally-acceptable standards as defined by the EPA,” said Glen Michelini, CCSD21 Director of Operations.
Samples were collected from 58 sites across CCSD21’s 14 buildings. The samples were analyzed for copper and lead levels and compared to the EPA’s National Primary Drinking Water Regulations, or Primary Standards.
