Radford Green Health Care and Rehabilitation Center at Sedgebrook Gains New Administrator

Zachary Gray, the new Associate Executive Director at Sedgebrook Retirement Community and Administrator at Radford Green Health Care and Rehabilitation Center at Sedgebrook, an 84-bed Skilled Nursing Facility and 40-bed Assisted Living in Lincolnshire, IL, always knew that he wanted a career in healthcare.

He held various internships while at Georgetown University, including work with New York State Health Department, Coram Healthcare, the American Cancer Society and Georgetown University Hospital. It was his summer working at a nursing home, however, that ultimately determined his career path in the senior living market.

“I think seniors deserve respect and attention, and I am pleased to have found a career in a field where I have an opportunity to help not only seniors, but also their family members,” Zach says. “It is an extraordinarily rewarding career.”

Zach ended up working as the Administrator at the 250-bed Skilled Nursing Facility where he interned in Maryland during college. He transitioned to a Continuing Care Retirement Community for several years in Washington, D.C. that offered Skilled Nursing Memory Care, Assisted Living and Independent Living.

Zach says he was excited for the transition when the opportunity was presented as Associate Executive Director at Sedgebrook in September.

“Sedgebrook is a beautiful community,” Zach says. “The staff-to-resident ratios at the Health Center and Assisted Living are the best I have seen, which only serves to benefit the health of our residents.”

Evidence of that patient-centered care is the 5 Star rating by Medicare for the health center, meaning Radford Green achieved the highest ratings for staffing, health and quality, Zach says.

As Associate Executive Director, he will oversee the 84-bed Skilled Nursing Facility, 38- bed Assisted Living wing and support the Executive Director of the 467-apartment Independent Living Community.

Zach received his Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration from Georgetown University and a Masters of Public Health from Columbia University. A New York native, Zach and his wife, Chelsey, will have dual residency between Illinois and Virginia until she can join him in Illinois in the spring.
