Rep. Bob Dold visits Holmes Middle School
Congressman Bob Dold (IL-10) visited Holmes Middle School on Monday, November 2.
Congressman Bob Dold (IL-10) visited Holmes Middle School on Monday, November 2. During his visit, Dold participated in a class discussion about civil liberties with eighth grade students. The students, considering the interaction between personal freedoms and national security, asked the congressman how advancements in technology and growing reliance on technology impacts society’s development and intersects with laws enacted to ensure security.
“Every day our students consider topics that have broad implications in their lives and the community,” said Martin Hopkins, Principal of Holmes Middle School. “The conversation our students had with Congressman Dold helped them understand his thought process when considering decisions that impact the country. In turn, he heard, first hand, about issues that are important to students.”
Dold also met with Principal Martin Hopkins, Assistant Principal Luis Bonilla, and CCSD21 Board members Bill Harrison, Staci Allan, and Arlen S. Gould. The group highlighted the many successes of School District 21 and also discussed the impact of federal decisions on schools and the community.

We are proud to have had the opportunity to highlight both to Congressman Dold during his visit.”
