BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

John W. Gonka, 41, of 700 block of W. Main Street, Antioch, had a warrant from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office for bond forfeiture, and was arrested at 5:32 p.m. March 23, on McHenry Road. He was released after posting a portion of their $5,000 bond and was assigned a court date of April 1.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

Jose A. Espinosa, 29, of the 5600 block of W. 24th Street, Cicero, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 8:26 a.m. March 25, on Schaeffer Road in Palatine. He was released after posting bond.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

  • Robert C. Williams, 41, of the 2100 block of N. McVicker Avenue, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and were arrested at 8:46 p.m. March 26, at E. Half Day Road and Waterbury Lane. He was released after posting bond and assigned a court date of April 13.
  • Ellen Marie Hodes, 65, of the 700 block of Heatherdown Way, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, illegal lane usage, and was arrested at 6:14 p.m. March 30, in the 700 block of Heatherdown Way. She was released after posting bond and assigned a court date of April 20.

INCIDENTS

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

  • A resident in the 800 block of Trace Drive, Buffalo Grove, reported at 9:33 p.m. March 21, for a suspected catalytic converter theft in progress and possible shots fired. The resident said three men wearing black masks, driving a black Chrysler 300, were stealing his catalytic converter. When police arrived, the resident said they were misunderstood and no shots were fired and no one was injured.
  • A Weidner Road resident called police at 11:23 a.m. March 26, to report the catalytic converter from his Nissan NV200 had been stolen while it was parked in a designated lot at his apartment complex and had not been used for several weeks. He had noticed a loud noise after turning the car on the prior day.
