Resident Says 'Support Israel' Sign Damaged: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Karl W. Morgenthaler, 36, of the 300 block of Nancy Drive, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, having an expired vehicle registration, and was arrested at 12:22 a.m. Nov. 3, at Dundee and Buffalo Grove roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 28.

INCIDENTS
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 10 block of Marquette Place reported at 1:20 p.m. Nov. 1, that someone had entered a window in their home and stole various items.
RETAIL THEFT
- Police met with an employee at Sam Ash Music, 1305 W. Dundee Road, at 3:18 p.m. Nov. 4, who said someone had stolen an electric guitar and left in a vehicle last seen heading westbound on Dundee Road.
- Police responded to Woodman's Grocery, 1550 E. Deerfield Parkway, at 3:40 p.m. Nov. 4, for a delayed retail theft report. An employee told police that someone had under-rang several items to a lower price and stole a bottle of alcohol without paying. The offender was later identified, where he returned to the store and paid for the items. He was issued an adjudication ticket and was trespassed from the store.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
Police responded to a home in the 100 block of Armstrong Drive at 1:12 p.m Nov. 5, for a theft of motor vehicle parts report. A complainant said they had parked their car in the designated parking spot outside his apartment at around 7 p.m. the previous evening. When they came out to the car at 1 p.m. the day of the report, they noticed their passenger rear wheel and tire were missing.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
- A resident in the 1200 block of Johnson Drive reported at 7 p.m. Nov. 5, someone at an unknown time and date had damaged the rear entrance door in an attempt to gain access. The door was dented, and the jamb was cracked in multiple areas.
- A resident in the 900 block of Knollwood Drive called police at 4 p.m. Nov. 6, to report that during the previous two hours, someone had damaged their "support Israel" sign in the front yard, and broke several lawn gnomes and other lawn ornaments.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT
A resident int he 100 block of N. Buffalo Grove Road reported at 7:32 a.m. Nov. 7, their car had been stolen from the front parking lot of their apartment building. The complainant said they had parked it there at around 2 p.m. the previous day.
