Residents Feel Safe, Support Buffalo Grove's Police Services: Survey

The Buffalo Grove Police Department recently conducted its 2023 Citizen Satisfaction Survey.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Since 1984, the Buffalo Grove Police Department has been conducting a survey biennially to find out the level of satisfaction citizens have with safety and police services. Recently, the BGPD mailed the 2023 Citizen Satisfaction Survey out to 1,500 residents.

According to the Village of Buffalo Grove, 95 percent of respondents feel safe in their homes or businesses, while 91 percent believe it is safe walking in their neighborhoods. Additionally, 87 percent of respondents feel the overall performance of the Buffalo Grove Police Department meets their expectations.

"I sincerely thank everyone who responded to the survey, sharing their candid feedback," Buffalo Grove Police Chief Brian Budds. "It is very encouraging to see that our police service satisfaction levels remain high, demonstrating our commitment to safety and excellence. These survey results will help guide our future strategic vision."

The Village said there was a 20 percent response rate to the survey. Officials said responses are analyzed and assist the Police Department in establishing future community policing goals. In addition, the department uses responses "to evaluate the need for improvements or changes since the previous survey was conducted."
