School Bus Driver Accused Of Grabbing, Kissing Student: Wheeling PD

The allegations of misconduct involving a 15-year-old female were reported in January, according to police.

WHEELING, IL — A former school bus driver for Wheeling High School is being accused of inappropriately grabbing and kissing a 15-year-old female student on the hand. Elvis Fabi was arrested and charged with battery following the alleged incident. The allegation of misconduct was reported in January, according to police.

Fabi is scheduled to appear in court at the 3rd District Circuit Court in Rolling Meadows for a forthcoming hearing.

The incident reportedly occurred as the student was preparing to exit the bus. Police said it "triggered an extensive investigation," which included a review of surveillance video footage from the bus. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved the charge.

Stephanie Kim, communications coordinator for Township High School District 214, told Patch the district is working closely with law enforcement and its transportation providers "to ensure the highest standards of safety and security for our students."

"The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities," Kim said. "We appreciate the action and thorough investigation conducted by the Wheeling Police Department and the proactive partnership with Grand Prairie Transit."

In addition to Wheeling High School, Township High School District 214 consists of Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove, John Hersey, Prospect and Rolling Meadows high schools.
