Sente Named Legislator of the Year by Fire Service Organization

Vernon Hills, Ill. – State Rep. Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hill, was named “Legislator of the Year” by the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts (IAFPD) at their annual conference last week in Springfield.

“I am both humbled and honored to receive this prestigious recognition, as it serves as a testament to the strong partnerships I have built during my short time as a legislator with the Illinois fire services community,” Sente said. “I look forward to continued collaborations with all of our first responders and their respective organizations, as they are the first ones on the scene, providing potentially lifesaving assistance, when seconds count.”

As Co-Chair of the Illinois Fire Service Caucus, Sente meets regularly with members of the Illinois Fire Services Association, including the IAFPD, to maintain an ongoing dialogue on the needs of the entire fire services community.

“This award comes in response to the accessibility and leadership that Sente has demonstrated on issues of importance to our members,” said Cheri Breneman, Administrator of the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts. “She has served as an invaluable resource to our legislative staff and the 660 fire protection district members we represent, helping them to successfully advocate on behalf of legislation benefiting the fire services.”
