Shopping Center Is An Eyesore, Hazard, Neighboring Residents Say

Those living near the nearly vacant Cambridge Commons shopping center in Buffalo Grove said the building is a hazard. Residents of the Cambridge of the Lake condominium complex attended Buffalo Grove's village board meeting Monday to voice their concerns about garbage on the property, the overall disrepair of the site and the potential for health risks from any fumes created if the building went up in flames, according to the Daily Herald.

Village Trustee Joanne Johnson said village officials can not force the owner to sell or develop the property but village officials can check on the location and enforce any potential violations.
