Street-Racing Teen Nabbed For DUI, Other Charges: Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

- Alvaro A. Hinestrosa, 46, of the 2400 block of Bayside Drive, Palatine, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 7:07 a.m. April 15, in the 300 block of Checker Drive. He was also cited for tinted windows. Hinestrosa was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of May 20.
- Adolfo Nunez Lopez, 40, of the 600 block of S. Dilger Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of driving on a revoked license, and was arrested at 9:40 a.m. April 17, in the 700 block of W. Lake Cook Road. They were released after posting bond and were assigned a court date of May 20.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Oleh Dotsiak, 19, of the 500 block of W. Happfield Drive, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended, unlawful use of license, street racing, and was arrested at 12:20 p.m. April 16, in the 1100 block of W. Lake Cook Road. Police saw two vehicles engaged in a street race in the area of Lake Cook and Buffalo Grove roads. Dotsiak also had a warrant for driving on a suspended license, DUI, revoked permit. He was released after posting bond.

A 64-year-old man was cited for retail theft of grocery items following an incident at 3:45 p.m. April 15, at Woodman's Grocery, 1500 block of E. Deerfield Parkway. He was also given a trespass warning.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
A resident in the 100 block of Marquette Place reported their vehicle was burglarized between April 14 and April 16. Personal items were stolen from the vehicle.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A passerby at Willow Stream Park, 600 block of Old Checker Road, reported at 10:13 a.m. April 17, finding damage to the restrooms. Police found soap dispensers and waste bins pulled off the walls, a plumbing access panel removed from the wall, and a copper tube inside damaged. Water was actively leaking from the tube. Police also discovered standing water trapped inside the wall adjoining the restrooms. They closed the nearest water valve and reported the damage to the Buffalo Grove Park District.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
A resident in the 1100 block of Johnson Drive reported at 4:08 a.m. April 19, someone stole vehicle parts. The resident saw a person near the vehicle while sawing noises were heard. Police found a vehicle in the parking lot missing a catalytic converter.
