Thieves Steal 100 Cartons Of Cigarettes: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter
The owner of the store told police he found the front glass broken out and cartons of cigarettes and vape cartridges missing.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

- Andrew J. Kaimakis, 31, of the 400 block of S. Barrington Road, Wauconda, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence resulting in great bodily harm, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, driving under the influence of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle, disregarding traffic light, possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested at 6:01 p.m. Feb. 27, following a rollover crash at N. Arlington Heights and McHenry roads. He was transferred to Cook County Jail.
- Maria Brown, 38, of the 300 block of N. Green Bay Road, Waukegan, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, speeding (26-34 mph over the speed limit), and was arrested at 12:49 a.m. March 5, in the 0-10 block of Lake Cook Road. She was released after posting a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of March 22.

- The owner of a tobacco store in the 1100 block of McHenry Road, reported at 7:55 a.m. Feb. 28, someone had broken into his store overnight. The store had closed at 7 p.m. the night before, and when he opened it in the morning, he found the front glass broken out and cartons of cigarettes and vape cartridges missing. His initial estimate is that at least 100 cartons of various cigarette brands were missing.
- Police responded to a business in the 300 block of Lexington Drive at 11:18 a.m. March 1, for an alarm activation. Police found damage to a vestibule door. The owner confirmed multiple items were missing from the lobby area.
RETAIL THEFT
- Police responded to Woodman's Food Market, 1550 E. Deerfield Parkway, at 2:30 p.m. March 2, for a report of a man walking out of the store without paying for a package of Bounty paper towels and a package of Charmin toilet tissue, valued at $63. Police contacted the man, who admitted to taking the items. The man followed police back to the store and paid for the items.
- Police responded to Woodman's Food Market, 1550 E. Deerfield Parkway, at 11:40 a.m. March 2, for a report of a known customer who had walked out of the store without paying for a 30-pack of Special Export Beer, valued at $67.96. The employee/manager that reported it told police they knew the man from previous unreported incidents at the store. The man had reportedly also stolen beer from the store on Feb. 2, Feb. 15 and Feb. 24. Police issued the man an adjudication ticket for retail theft and a no trespass warning at the request of the store.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Dundee Parkway at 11:42 a.m. March 6, for a report of a residential burglary. The resident told police she had left the house for three hours, arrived back home and found the front door forced open and items missing from the residence.
